On Wednesday evening, investigators from the Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit arrested a 28 year old Milwaukee subject for numerous heroin and cocaine related charges. Investigators recently identified the male subject as a significant heroin source in Manitowoc County. Investigators began conducting controlled purchases from teh subject in May 2016. The male subject met with undercover peronnel and delivered cocaine in May and then began supplying large amounts of heroin during the controlled purchases. On Wednesday evening, investigators arranged to purchase approximately 2 1/2 ounces of heroin from the subject. The male subject arrived at a location on the west side of the City of Manitowoc where investigators attempted to take him into custody. The subject fled on foot and a short pursuit occurred and he was taken into custody near USH 151 and Hecker Road. The subject threw the heroin in a field which was located & recovered by the Manitowoc Sheriff K9 personnel.
Overall investigators seized over a 1/4 pound of heroin from the subject during the course of the investigation. Investigators estimate the street value of the seized heroin to be approximately $30,000.
Charges will be referred to the Manitowoc County District Attorney’s Office for multiple heroin & cocaine delivery offensees as a repeater. The subject was transported to the Manitowoc County Jail & will be making a Thursday afternoon court appearance.
