Real-life Scooby-Dooby Doo helps cops nab a thief

Officers with the New York City Police Department solved a series of recent burglaries with the help of a golden retriever they’ve dubbed “Scooby-Dooby Doo,” according to The Washington Post.

The cops say they got a tip about a possible suspect, and were greeted at the front door of the man’s home by the excited four-year-old puppy. After realizing the pooch had been stolen, they investigated further and found more stolen and illegal items, including credit cards, green cards, narcotic pills, jewelry, a machete and a sword — as well as Scooby’s personalized leash.

The police reported on Twitter that the dog is back with his real owner and the suspect is in custody facing burglary and other charges.
