Top Things to Do on the Lakeshore This Weekend

Blade Bash will be held at the Manitowoc County Ice Center (an Adult Only Event), on Saturday, September 29 from 6:30-11:30. There will be Raffle Baskets, Cash Prizes, Food and Beverages and live music by Oil Can Harry. Admission cost is $10.00 and includes a one brat or hamburger and one beverage. All Proceeds go to Manitowoc County Youth Hockey Association.

Celebrate Harvest Fest in downtown Manitowoc as it kicks off this Saturday. Enjoy Farmers Market and check out downtown merchants with sidewalk sales and specials from 8 to 4, seasonal food & fun, kids activities, an antique tractor display from 8 to 2, the farmers market from 8 to 1, music and more. Children can enjoy activities just for them while adults shop the special while enjoying the beautiful scenic shore and emerging fall colors.  Horse and wagon rides are from 10 to 2.

September is Suicide Prevention Month, a time to help everyone become more aware oaf the warning signs of suicide. Please join in the 7th Annual 5k Walk/Run for Hope, being held on September 29th from 7:30 to noon starting at Neshotah Park in Two Rivers. The walk begins at 9am. You can pre-register or sign up the day of the event. Cost is $20/person, $15 for students and $60 for families. The KC’s will be serving burgers and brats afterwards. If you wish, bring $5/person for a meal and don’t forget $$$$ for the silent auction including 2 Packer Tickets!!!

The Sheboygan Area Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held on Saturday, September 29th at 3000 Calumet Drive (Evergreen Park) and begins at 8:30 am with registration.  The opening ceremony is 9:40 am and the 2 mile walk starts at 10 am.  All donations benefit the Alzheimers Association for care, support & research efforts of the Alzheimers Assocation.

The Two Rivers High School’s Octagon Club’s Electronics Drive will be held Saturday from 9:00am – 1:00pm.  at the J. E. Hamilton Community House in Two Rivers.  Please enter at the 18th Street parking lot entrance. Most electronic items are accepted at no charge, items with a charge, TV’s any size $15.00, Monitors $10.00 and Freon Items $5.00.
