Top 5 Things to Do on the Lakeshore This Weekend

The Whitelaw Community Fest will be held this Saturday at the Whitelaw Village Park US Hwy 10 in Whitelaw.  It’s a fun day for all – featuring DARK HORSE playing classic rock from 6pm to 10pm. Bean bag toss, dartball and kickball tournament, kids games and bingo 12:30-2:30. Music and Food all day, outdoor Polka Mass at 4pm followed by a broasted chicken dinner from until 6:30. The Buffalo Bill Wild West Show Comes to Pinecrest Village from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, August 11 and 12.  Visitors to the Manitowoc County Historical Society’s Pinecrest Historical Village will have the opportunity to spend the day amidst the legends of the Wild West, including the likes of Buffalo Bill and Annie Oakley. An arena show will take place at 1 p.m. both days, with the thrill and excitement of fast horses, trick riding and fancy shooting. A flea circus and parade will also be part of the festivities. Visitors can tour the canvas boomtown camp and the entire Village grounds, shop for period fashions, leatherwork and your own treasures from the Wild West. Try your hand at rope twirling and stop by Annie Oakley’s rubber band shooting gallery. Historic games and demonstrations will also take place throughout the day. Food and beverages will be available through the Optimist Club. There will also be a book signing for the recently released Arcadia Publishing “Images of America: Schroeder’s Department Store” from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on August 12.  Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for children age 5 to 17 and free for those under age 5. MCHS Members receive free admission.

 

Join the fun at Washington Park in downtown Manitowoc for the 36th Annual Kiwanis Club Car Show on Sunday, August 12th from 10am-4pm. Check out your favorite car or motorcycle from over 300 featured during this annual tradition. No admission for spectators. There are concession and beverages available on the grounds in the shade of Washington Park for one of the best car shows of the year.

 

The Kiel Community Picnic will be held this weekend.  Thursday is family night with Get-a-Way entertainment.  Friday evening, enjoy the Kiel Municipal Band, The Crisis and Country B Basement Boys.  Saturday’s activities include the kids coin hunt, music by Pat McCurdy and the Jerry Schneider Polka Band in the afternoon…and music by Johnny Wad and the Two Timers in the evening.  Sunday features a parade at 11:30, followed by KHS Waves of Rhythm, with Vic Ferrari playing at 2 pm.  There’s also Homer the clown, games, rides, great food & beverages.

 

2018 Marks 150 years of the Plymouth Fire Department providing protection and services by our staff of volunteers in this fantastic community. Join in the celebration Sunday, August 12th from 11am to 5pm beginning with a parade from the city fire department to the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds. Food and beverages will be available with entertainment provided by The Mantz Brothers and Two Cool. For kids, there will be giant inflatables, pony rides and a petting zoo available at no cost.
