Top 5 Things to Do This Weekend

Head down to Manitowoc’s lakefront this weekend for the 44th Annual Northeast Wisconsin Great Lakes Sport Fishermen’s Salmon Derby & Festival July 6th through the 8th . It’s a three day event featuring great lakes fishing, great food, refreshments and entertainment in the evenings. Friday night features music from 7 to 11 by the Charlie Bucket Band; Saturday night Shocker takes the stage from 7 to 11; and enjoy music by Howard & the Blue Gills from 1 to 5.

The Silver Cup XVIII Amateur Disc Golf Tournament is going on Saturday & Sunday (July 7th & 8th). All amateur divisions compete for great prizes at Silver Creek Park and Rollin’ Ridge disc golf courses in Manitowoc. Spectators are welcome and media guides available. Bring a cooler and a lawn chair to take in the exciting action or register online to play. Contests, merchandise vendors, food and beverages onsite.

Join the firefighters of New Holstein July 6th through the 8th at Civic Park in New Holstein, There’s family fun all weekend, starting at 3pm Friday afternoon with live music Friday night, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Saturday night features the largest fireworks display north of Milwaukee. A huge parade begins at 11am on Sunday foloowed by a chicken dinner and the fun lasts until 5pm. Don’t miss the carnival rides, food beverages all weekend long.

Join the fun at Rio Creek Airport at the annual Rio Creek Fly-in at the Rio Creek Airport in Kewaunee on Saturday, July 7th. The day begins with their Pancake & Porkie Breakfast starting at 7:00am followed by lunch at 11:00am and includes plane rides, polka music, a silent auction, kids activities and more.

The Music in the Park concert at Harbor Park in Kewaunee will feature Rob Anthony on July 8th, combining a harmony of Americana with an edge of rock from 5 to 7:30 pm. Bring your own lawn chair, blanket, picnic basket & beverages and enjoy a few hours of music. Local organizations may be selling food on select dates. The rain location is Lakehaven Hall (a sign will be posted in the gazebo).
