Social media went nuts Saturday for one touchdown during the first half of the game between the Louisville Cardinals and Kent State Golden Flashes.
Fox Sports South turned the broadcast over to squirrel coverage as the critter ran onto the field, and the announcers called the play as he proceeded to run from midfield into the end zone for a 45-yard “touchdown.” Though the furry creature’s touchdown did not count for either team, the crowd cheered wildly when the squirrel finally reached the Louisville end zone.
After he made his wild run, he celebrated by flattening himself on the turf, clearly out of breath.
The Cardinals were up 21-0 against the Golden Flashes at the time of the squirrel touchdown, and ended up winning 42-3.
Nevertheless, the squirrel was the highlight of the game.
