On 11-15-16 at 6:26 PM, Manitowoc Police were dispatched to a report of a hit and run accident that occurred at the intersection of N. 8th St. and Waldo Blvd. A bicyclist was traveling Northbound on N. 8th St. at Waldo Blvd. when a vehicle was traveling Westbound on Waldo Blvd. at N. 8th St. The vehicle did not stop for a red traffic signal and struck the front tire of the bicycle, knocking the bicyclist off the bicycle and into the street. The victim and a witness on scene stated that the driver of the vehicle, got out of the vehicle, checked his vehicle for damage, got back into the vehicle and sped off from the scene without checking on the bicyclist, Westbound on Waldo Blvd. Both the bicyclist and the witness described the vehicle as a possible tan Buick. The driver was described as a short, heavy set male in his late 40’s or early 50’s.
