On Monday afternoon, investigators from the Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit arrested a 36 year old Milwaukee subject in Sheboygan County related to several recent heroin distribution investigations.
Investigators recently identified a significant source of heroin distribution being transported to Manitowoc County from Milwaukee Several controlled purchases were arranged and completed at various locations in Manitowoc and Sheboygan County. In early March 2016 investigators completed a controlled purchase of over an ounce of heroin from the 36 year old male subject. On Monday investigators arranged for the purchase of a quarter pound of heroin from the male subject.
Investigators determined the male subject was in Sheboygan County and agreed to conduct the purchase at a north Sheboygan location. Investigators located the subject and took him into custody. Investigators located over a quarter pound of heroin intended to be sold for distribution In Manitowoc County. Investigators have identified this seizure as the largest heroin seizure in recent history. In total, investigators estimate the seized heroin to have a street value of approximately $30,000.
The 36 year old is being held at the Manitowoc County Jail on a charge for conspiracy to delivery of heroin as a repeater. The subject made a Tuesday afternoon court appearance and is being held on $50,000 cash bail.
Investigators were assisted by Manitowoc County Sheriff K-9 Unit, Sheboygan County Sheriff, Sheboygan County MEG Unit and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Additionally, two Manitowoc subjects were charged Wednesday with heroin distribution charges related to a February heroin delivery on the south side of Manitowoc. A 34 year old male subject and a 21 year old female subject are currently in custody in the Manitowoc County JasI charged with delivery of heroin within 1,000 ft. of a school as a repeater. The 34 year old subject is currently on probation with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. Both subjects will be making a Thursday afternoon court appearance.
