Police say two children have died in a house fire in Sheboygan Falls near 5th & Western Avenue. A third child is in critical condition. One other child was unharmed.
Officials said an 11-year-old child alerted the other children of the fire. A 9-year-old was able to escape the home and met firefighters outside. A brave 11-year-old child re-entered the home in an attempt to locate the other two children – ages 10 and 7. Firefighters located the 7, 10 and 11-year-old children in an upstairs room. The 7-year-old died at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. The 10 and 11-year-olds were taken by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Wauwatosa.
Officials said the 11-year-old died Wednesday morning. Police also said late Wednesday morning that the 10-year-old is in critical condition.
